Yola Times aims to report accurately. When we get something wrong, we correct it openly and promptly. This page explains how.
Requesting a correction
If you believe we have published something that is inaccurate, email [email protected] with the headline or a link to the article, the specific point you believe is wrong, and — where you can — what you understand the correct position to be. The more detail you give us, the faster we can look into it.
How we respond
We review every correction request. If we confirm an error of fact, we will correct it as soon as reasonably possible. If we conclude the article was accurate, we will explain why. Either way, we aim to reply to good-faith requests.
How corrections are shown
When we correct a published article, we amend the article itself and add a note recording that it was corrected and, where the change is significant, what was changed. We do not quietly alter published reporting; a meaningful correction is disclosed on the story.
Significant errors
Where an error is serious — for example, one that materially misrepresents a person or their conduct — the correction will be given due prominence, and where appropriate we will publish a clarification or apology.
Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how a correction request has been handled, you may ask for it to be reviewed by the editor. Direct such requests to [email protected], marking them for the editor's attention.
